Assess each student’s knowledge
of basic facts with JTF Pre-test/Post-test
units—never check another fact sheet!

• Five-minute test on all four operations: Addition, Subtraction,
  Multiplication and Division.
• Full assessment of each student’s skill improvement.
• Helps build automaticity with addition, subtraction, multiplication and division facts.

The first time a student attempts each module, the results are saved as their "FIRST TRY" score. Students can click the First Try button at any time to view their original score, and toggle between their First Try score, and their CURRENT SCORE to see how much they have improved. Bonus points are awarded for improvement in any of the four operations.

Scoring:
FIRST TRY
Each Completed First Try with at least 50% correct = 30 stickers

SUBSEQUENT TRIES
80% Correct Test = additional 30 stickers
90% Correct Test = additional 30 stickers
100% Correct Test = additional 30 stickers (If a player gets 100% correct right away, all 90 additional stickers are awarded)

• 50 additional Bonus stickers awarded when both ADDITION and SUBTRACTION units have been completed (100% correct)
• 50 additional Bonus stickers awarded when both MULTIPLICATION and DIVISION units have been completed (100% correct)

Math skills in basic areas have increased dramatically in schools that incorporate the First In Math® Online Program into their
curriculum. Assessment of 2007-2008 data in the Just The Facts module points to improved performance at all skill levels.

When students enter the JTF module, they first take a “Pre-test” to determine their
fluency level. At a later date, determined by their teacher or at students’ discretion, they repeat the same exercise as a “Post-test.”

Using 2007-08 data from the ADDITION* unit of the module as an example, more than 95,000 students nationwide who took both the Pre- and Post-test experienced a 30.3 percentage-point increase in the FLUENT category, from 26.8% scoring Fluent on the Pre-test to 57.1% meeting that benchmark on the Post-test. 

* Comparable results achieved on Subtraction, Multiplication and Division units.
